Are you in danger of being evicted from your apartment or losing your house?
Do you need financial help to move from a homeless shelter or a “doubled-up” situation?
You may be eligible for financial and other types of assistance through Family & Community Services
at Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership.

Can you answer “Yes” to the following questions?

1. Are you a resident of Clay or Wilkin County?
NOTE: Individuals who have lived in Clay or Wilkin County for less than 30 days are eligible to be considered for assistance. County residents currently living in the YWCA shelter in Fargo are also eligible to be considered for Clay or Wilkin County’s Homeless prevention Assistance Program assistance if they can show their plans are to return to either county.

and

Have you been turned down for emergency assistance by Clay or Wilkin County Social Services? You must have a letter from the County indicating that you are not eligible for any type of emergency financial assistance to meet your housing needs.

2. Can you show that you can pay your own rent after you receive assistance?
Do you have a job, or will you or someone in your family be starting a job in the VERY near future? Are you now-or will you soon-be receiving MFIP, SSI, SSDI or some other long-term form of assistance? Are you moving to lower-cost housing?

3. Would you like to work with a housing/self-sufficiency counselor to help you develop and implement plans to meet your housing needs on an on-going basis?

DID YOU ANSWER “YES” TO QUESTION 1 AND AT LEAST ONE OTHER QUESTION?

If so, you should schedule an appointment. CALL 218-299-7012 to set up an appointment with our Housing Services Coordinator, or please leave a message and your call will be returned.
