Early Learning Scholarships

The State Early Learning Scholarships, a program of the Minnesota Department of Education, give families financial support of up to $7,500 to help pay for high-quality early care and education to prepare their young children for school. Any family residing in Minnesota and meeting the income eligibility and child age requirements may apply for a scholarship. Lakes and Prairies CAP administers scholarships for Region 4 residents. Please see below for the list of counties we serve.

Are you eligible?

      • You live in Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse or Wilkin County.
         
      • Your child(ren) turn(s) 3 or 4 years old by 9/1/2018

                -OR-
         
      • Your child(ren) is/are age 0 - 5 and meet one of the following state-set priorities:
        • You are under 21 years old and pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
        • Your family has experienced homelessness in the last 24 months.
        • You are receiving Child Protective Services or your child is in foster care placement.

          -AND-
           
      • Your family participates in one of the following publicly funded programs:
